Mich Monette

Dr. Mich Monette is a Clinical Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist. She provides both assessment and treatment services to adults virtually across Ontario.

Mich is supportive, empathetic, and will work collaboratively with you to empower you to achieve your treatment goals. She will meet you where you’re at and help you learn skills to make lasting behaviour changes that will improve your overall quality of life and well-being. Her approach is non-judgmental, anti-oppressive, and focused on using evidence-based practice to help clients learn to care for and value themselves and to achieve fulfilment from life. Mich enjoys working with neurodivergent clients, LGBTQIA+ clients, and clients with diverse lived experiences.

Mich has many years of experience with the assessment and treatment of adults with
depression and anxiety of all origins, and has a special interest in chronic illness and medically complex cases. She has experience treating the emotional and cognitive impacts of most medical conditions that impact emotional and cognitive functioning. Her dissertation research focused on improving self-care and quality of life in individuals with chronic illness. Her approach to therapy integrates a variety of treatment modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, along with individually tailored interventions targeted at increasing daily and interpersonal functioning.

Mich’s professional background includes training experiences in inpatient and outpatient settings at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, Hamilton General Hospital and Regional Rehabilitation Centre, McMaster University Medical Centre, and Windsor Regional Hospital. She has also worked in university assessment clinics, private practice, and community mental health settings.
