Shanel Quenneville

Shanel is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Shanel is currently completing a Master’s in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University and has an Honours B.A., double majoring in Psychology and Child and Youth Studies from Brock University. Shanel’s background includes working as a teaching assistant, research assistant, and ABA therapist, where she developed a strong foundation in working with children and adolescents.  

Shanel provides in person services in English, to children and youth under the supervision of psychotherapy Samanatha Davidson, and psychologist Dr. Julia Ryan. She is passionate about supporting clients with various emotional and social difficulties and developing skills and tools to build resilience in face of adversity. Shanel provides a compassionate, warm, non-judgemental and accepting space that honours the diversity of all. She fosters a collaborative, client-centred approach, employing skills from both cognitive-behavioural therapy and dialectical behavioural therapy. Other forms of therapies include narrative therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, and solution-focused therapy. Shanel looks forward to helping clients every step of the way as they work towards their journey of improved functioning, personal fulfilment and mental wellness.
