Shanel Quenneville

Shanel provides in-person services in English to children and youth, creating a compassionate, warm, non-judgmental space. She is passionate about supporting clients as they navigate emotional and social difficulties, helping them develop skills and tools to build resilience in face of adversity. Her clinical focus is on relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, self-compassion, and confidence. She also holds a strong interest in attachment theory and parent-child relationships.

Shanel fosters a collaborative, client-centred approach and integrates skills from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). She also draws from narrative therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, and solution-focused therapy. Shanel looks forward to helping clients every step of the way on their journey toward better daily living, personal fulfilment, and mental wellness.

Shanel is a Registered Psychotherapist who holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University. She also earned an Honours B.A. from Brock University, double majoring in Psychology and Child and Youth Studies. Shanel’s background includes working as a teaching assistant, research assistant, and ABA therapist, where she developed a strong foundation in working with children and adolescents.
