Joy Nnadi

Joy recently completed a doctor of psychology (PsyD) at the University of Prince Edward Island. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in a school board setting, and has prior training experience in community mental health settings.

Joy conducts comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents and adults under the supervision of Dr. Julia Ryan, assessing a range of socioe-emotional, neurodevelopmental, and mental health concerns.

With an integrative and trauma-informed approach, Joy also provides therapy for children, adolescents and adults with different mental health concerns including anxiety and depression, behavioural challenges, tensions with identity, low self-esteem, race-related and trauma-related difficulties. Joy’s therapeutic approach draws from attachment theory, humanistic approaches and cognitive-behavioral techniques. She believes that her role as a therapist is to provide the space and resources for clients to connect with themselves by helping them recognize patterns of thoughts and behaviours that no longer serve them. Through genuine warmth, connection and unconditional positive regard, Joy supports clients in developing the skills to meet their personal goals.
